Class Details:
Afraid of short rows? Ana challenges you to take this class and conquer your fears! A short row is a row that is partially knitted and turned before the end. This technique is used for shaping garments, socks, and other projects. In this class, we will cover wrap-and-turn, German, and Japanese short rows. We will then discuss how and where to use this technique in your knitting projects, such as sweater collars, neck shaping, and adding bust darts to sweaters.
Homework:
Using US8 needles and one color of worsted-weight yarn, cast on 20 stitches. Knit 6 rows in plain stockinette. Leave yarn attached and stitches on the needle and bring to class.
Supplies for Class:
You will need US8 needles (flat or circular, your preference), two colors of smooth, worsted-weight yarn (light color and wool or wool blend recommended), removable markers (must be removable), and pen and paper for notes.
