Class Details:
Expand upon the basics and learn to decrease in 2-color brioche knitting! This workshop is for those wanting to learn more and expand their brioche knitting vocabulary as well as for the newer, but adventurous brioche knitter. Join Simone and learn the skills needed to knit the Splish Splash shawlette. During this workshop, we will review the basics of the brioche knit and purl stitch worked flat, then learn how to work basic decreases in brioche knitting (we will learn simple directional brioche decreases). We will also go over how to read a brioche pattern, how to count rows and stitches, and how to transition to brioche knitting from a regular knit pattern, all while Simone guides you through a miniature version of Splish Splash, her fun brioche bordered shawl! You will leave the class ready to cast on and knit the full sized Splish Splash, a shawl with a nifty Brioche border, inspired by water splashing in the summer sun. Great class for knitters with a little brioche experience who want to learn more! Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease, have knit a few accessories; This is NOT a beginner Brioche class. Students should have previous experience with two-color brioche knitting. Consider taking one of the Intro/Beginner Brioche classes before this one!
