Class Details:
The easiest way to start working with 2 colors has to be mosaic knitting! Through the strategic use of slipped stitches, we will create intricate-looking patterns while using only one color per row! No stranding or carrying a second color of yarn along the wrong side, just easy slip stitches. In this workshop students will learn the basics of mosaic knitting. We will look at garter and stockinette versions of mosaic patterns, work on understanding the concept and build confidence by swatching several patterns, starting with an easy one and working up to more intricate patterns. We will also look at reading mosaic color charts (it's super easy!). Experience working with 2 colors is NOT necessary!
Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; familar with slip stitches

Supplies for Class:
Smooth, sport- to worsted-weight yarn in 2 colors for the swatches. Appropriate size circular or double point needles for swatch yarn. General knitting notions (such as darning needle and scissors etc.).
