Class Details:
Come and play around with embroidery so you can embellish your own hand knits! Learn a variety of basic embroidery stitches and techniques for stitching onto hand knit fabric. Create your own swatch stitch sampler and get inspired to add these techniques to your own knit pieces! Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; basic finishing techniques
Homework:
Bring a finished 8" x 8" stockinette stitch swatch that has been blocked with a gauge of 17 sts and 24 rows over 4".
Supplies for Class:
Bring your finished swatch or worsted weight yarn to knit it in class. Bring a palette of 6-8 colors of fingering weight yarns for stitching with (scraps and small amounts are fine). I recommend bringing different types of yarn including mohair/silk yarn or other fiber textures to experiment with as well as knitting needles, a darning needle for stitching with and scissors. If you want you can also bring a finished hand knit to stitch on (a hat, gloves, a simple sweater). Please bring a darning needle for stitching with and scissors.
