Many of the more delicate lace and intricate cable or colorwork patterns are charted designs. Learn how to read charts and take your knitting to the next level. No cryptology degree needed! In this class you will learn the ins and outs of reading charts. Color charts, lace charts, cable charts, you name it! Starting with simple 2 color charts, and some beginner lace, we will work through several learning exercises and swatches and build the skill and confidence to tackle larger and more involved charted designs, along the way you will start training your eyes to read your knitting. Simone will share tips and tricks on how to recognize and remember special symbols, how to learn to recognize symbols and compare them to the actual knitting, how to avoid mistakes and some great ways on how to keep your place while working from charts.
