The thought of cutting into your knits might be scary but no need to fear! In this class, you'll be guided through different ways of securing and snipping your stitches. We'll cover a crochet steek and a fancy, elegant steek with a knit facing and you'll leave armed with the knowledge and confidence to take your scissors to your knits! From the moment you enter the classroom, Mieka works to make sure your time together is safe valuable and fun! You'll leave feeling not only accomplished and armed with new skills but but that you've connected with your community. Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; working in the round; chart reading; easy colorwork; beginner crochet
Homework:
Using DK-weight yarn and 4.5mm (US 7) DPNs (or long circular needle if using magic loop method), CO 60 sts using long-tail cast-on. Place a beginning of round marker and join in the round. K24, p1, k10, p1, k24. Repeat this round until your sample measures 3.5 inches/9 cm in height. BO all sts with any preferred bind-off method. When choosing the yarn, choose a yarn that is pure wool or a 90% wool blend. Non-animal fibers such as cotton and acrylic are not appropriate for steeking. 
Supplies for Class:
In addition to your homework, please bring 1 fingering weight yarn in a contrasting color than your homework. When choosing the yarn, choose a yarn that is pure wool or 90% wool blend. Non-animal fibers such as cotton and acrylic are not appropriate for steeking. For needles and notions, please bring 3.5mm (US 4) needles, a crochet hook size G-6 (4mm), 1 removable stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.
