We can only go to craft nights and yarn festivals so often. For all that time in between, we look to Instagram to connect with our online community of crafters. If you want to improve your photos, reach more people, and grow your online community of crafters, this lecture is for you! Mieka will provide techniques to improve your photos (no fancy equipment needed!), connect with others through your captions, and share your crafting journey through IG stories. That doesn’t mean pristine, studio-like photos, but sharing the real parts of your craft and what it means to you that makes up your day-to-day life, including frogged yarn barf, dropped stitches, and 3-double-espresso-minimum days. You’ll leave with easy-to-achieve tips and a link to downloadable materials you can use immediately to amp up your IG account and connect more with the crafting community. Mieka’s background is in business and user experience design. She brings skills from those fields with her into the knitting world to help break down concepts and techniques in different ways to help students learn with ease and implement these skills into their lives. From the moment you enter the room, Mieka works to make sure your time together is safe, valuable, and fun! You’ll leave feeling not only accomplished and armed with new skills but but that you’ve connected with your community of crafters.
