Class Details:
Decorating around the yoke of a sweater is a wonderful way to bring focus to the neck area. If you want to create designs for a round yoke sweater, whether it’s your own pattern or to modify an existing pattern with a different motif, this is the a class for you. We will start with some basics of calculations to make a round yoke sweater that fits well. All kinds of stitches can be used for a round yoke design, including colorwork, cables, or texture stitches. We will explore ways to use motifs, either from stitch dictionaries or your own, to create a design for a round yoke sweater. Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; chart reading; have knit a whole garment, must know how to knit in round, some basics in either colorwork or texture stitches.

Supplies for Class:
Yarn, 2 or more if you want to work with colorwork; needles for the yarn to work in the round using in your preferred method; graph papers; pencil; 4 or more charts you want to work with--they can be your own or from a knitting dictionary (can be colorwork charts, texture stitches, or other singular motifs).
