Class Details:
Create your own custom embroidered sweater! Learn basic embroidery stitches and techniques for how to work them onto hand knit fabric. Combine stitches, and make a plan for how to layout your design to create your own unique embroidered yoke sweater. - Class includes a full boho chic fiber co pattern for a worsted weight top-down yoked sweater as a canvas for stitching on. Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; have knit a whole garment; experience with top-down garment construction; basic finishing techniques; short rows
Homework:
Bring a finished 8" x 8" stockinette stitch swatch that has been blocked with a gauge of 17 sts and 24 rows over 4".
Supplies for Class:
Bring your finished swatch or worsted weight yarn to knit it in class. Bring a palette of 6-8 colors of fingering weight yarns for stitching with (scraps and small amounts are fine). I recommend bringing different types of yarn including mohair/silk yarn or other fiber textures to experiment with as well as knitting needles, a darning needle for stitching with and scissors.
