Class Details:
They say our largest organ is our skin; what if the color we chose to wear against our skin, and the therapeutic properties carried in the plant it came from, were able to influence our health? While this notion is definitely still up for discussion, it won’t stop us playing with the wonderful color medicinal plants can offer us. In this class we will focus on herbs in our dye pots. We will touch lightly on their medicinal qualities but delve deep into the pigments they contain. We will spend considerable time playing with post mordants and modifiers, and how they affect the resulting color. We will dye mini skeins of yarn, and you will leave questioning if perhaps there is more to it than just the color when dyeing with medicinals.
