Class Details:
All the basics of knit design can be explored in the design of a hat. We will look at various construction methods, investigate decreases, and consider how these apply to working with lace, cable, or colorwork designs. This workshop is perfect for intermediate to advanced knitters who want to explore design and pattern writing. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; have knit a few accessories
Homework:
If desired, bring swatches of stitch patterns you are considering using in the design of your hat. This is not absolutely necessary, but will help you get the most from the instruction.
Supplies for Class:
- A stitch dictionary or stitch pattern printouts (we will supply some to borrow / peruse)
- graph paper and pencil
- yarn and needles to suit
