Class Details:
Learn how to knit a sweater or other item without using a pattern or graph using Sam Barsky's method. In this class, you will learn approximately 15 techniques useful in knitting pictures of realistic scenery from commercially available yarns. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; have knit a whole garment; easy colorwork; advanced colorwork; able to design own garments; basic finishing techniques; advanced finishing techniques; able to think outside the box
Homework:
Spending a little time studying pictures of scenery or landmarks strongly recommended but not required.
Supplies for Class:
• 2 long straight needles sizes 8, 9, or 10 • 2 other long straight needles two sizes smaller • 2 skeins solid color yarn, color #1 • 2 skeins solid color yarn, color #2 • 2 skeins variegated yarn, color #1 • 2 skeins variegated yarn, color #2 • scissors • pad and pen Note: all yarn should be compatible to size of first set of needles listed above and all to the same size needles, though it does not all need to be the same brand.
