Class Details:
Longtime knitter and professional yarn whisperer Steven Berg is here to tell you what your knits and color choices say about you. He will guide you through a quiz that will show you which colors you should be working with to truly represent yourself and then discuss the motion of colors. You will explore techniques to create gradients using your own colors and methods of combining colors to their greatest effect. Bring your favorite hand-knit (or crochet) and share it with Steven for a peek into your personal fiber future-- he knows all, sees all, tells all!
Homework:
None
Supplies for Class:
• An open mind • A pen or pencil and a notebook or design sketchbook to keep notes • 5-7 yarns in a variety of colors, including a fingering weight and a lace weight each in different fibers like mohair and silk to be combined into a heavier weight, as well as a chunky weight. (Yarns should be chosen and wound prior to class so we can begin immediately. More yarns can be added during class. Choose a color palette when bringing your stash to make it cohesive but include one color you wouldn’t normally use.) • A variety of needle sizes from US 6 to US 15 will be needed so bring a good selection (we recommend an interchangeable set) • A work-in-progress or finished project for show and tell (the desire to be admired is not required—but it is recommended!)
