Class Details:
Meg Swansen and Amy Detjen have been teaching this subject at Meg’s annual Knitting Camps for over twenty years (!). They each will describe and demonstrate their individual methods; holding the wools in two hands, or holding both wools in one hand. They will discuss how Fair Isle knitting differs from Scandinavian color-knitting which differs from Armenian Knitting, and and introduce you to techniques to tackle any one of those disciplines.
Homework:
Make a swatch: With a 16” circ, or two 24” circs, or a magic-loop set up, please cast on 108 stitches, mark the beginning of the round, and work about an inch of ribbing (either 1x1 or 2x2). Next round, increase to 120 sts all in one round (k8, m1) around. Knit one more round.
Supplies for Class:
Bring the swatch on the needles, plus an ounce or so of a contrasting color in the same weight.
