Class Details:
This class is an in-depth exploration of the versatility of dimensional tuck knitting. We will begin with a quick review of the basics, including the standard method of manipulation, and how to read dimensional tuck charts. From there you will learn alternative methods of working the stitch patterns that allow you to work dimensional tucks in the round. These alternative methods can also give the stitch pattern a whole new look! We will also discuss how the behavior and look of the stitch patterns can change by simply changing the scale of the pattern or by what background stitch used. Next you will learn how to “tame the tuck”: In their natural state, dimensional tucks will cause the cast-on and bind-off edges to become wavy or bubble. In class you will learn how to tame them into neat, straight edges. Finally, we will look at how to choose appropriate stitch patterns to add color to the tucks by using stripes, intarsia, entrelac, and slip stitches. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; knit or purl multiple stitches together (k3tog, p3tog)
