Class Details:
If you’ve always wanted to create your own sweater but weren’t sure where to start, this class is for you. We’ll unlock the mysteries of seamless sweater math to give you the tools you need to knit your own sweater design in any size or gauge. You’ll be ready to cast-on by the time you leave class! Note: Students must have previous experience knitting (and completing) adult size sweaters to benefit from this class. You’ll learn: • How to calculate your sweater size • How to turn a swatch into a sweater formula • How to create a basic spreadsheet to track your increases • Basic structure for a seamless, top-down pullover sweater (with tips for cardigans, too) Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; have knit a whole garment; experience with top-down garment construction; computer skills and basic working knowledge of Excel
Homework:
A standard gauge swatch at least 4 in/10 cm to use as a reference. You may bring a swatch from another class or one from a previous project.

Materials needed for class: • Pen/pencil and notebook • Calculator • Laptop computer with Excel (basic working knowledge of Excel is required) • Gauge swatch from homework
