Class Details:
This day-long class is the only instruction you’ll need for a lifetime of beautifully crafted, well-fitting socks from Scandinavian design superstars Arne & Carlos. They’ll teach students the easiest sock in the world, focusing a lot of attention on the heel. You’ll learn tips and tricks to take your sock knitting to the next level, so that you’ll never again falter when turning that heel. As long as you know how to knit and purl in the round, and know the basic structure of sock knitting, this class is made for you! Important Note: In order to make sure that all students knit an entire sock from beginning to end in class, we will be working with a pattern for a mini sock. There is enough yarn in the ball of Regia 6-ply (150 g) to knit both the mini sock and a pair of adult socks, so those participants who finish their mini sock with plenty of time to go will be able to start on their adult sock in class. Technique Requirements: Basic knitting skills needed. Participants should be able to knit and purl on the round as well as increase and decrease. This project is suitable for knitters with basic skills as well as intermediate and advanced knitters.
Homework:
None
Supplies for Class:
REGIA Design Line by Arne & Carlos 6-PLY. 1 ball (150gr) in any color option. *Please note that the Regia Design Line is available in both 4-ply and 6-ply. For this class, participants must use the thickest yarn option, which is the 6-ply. Also note that Regia Pairfect is not suitable for this class, as we will be knitting the sock from the toe-up. Needles: 1 set of 5 DPNs size 3 mm (U.S. size 3, U.K. size 11) for ribbing; 1 set of 5 DPNs size 3.5 mm (U.S. size 4, U.K. size 8) for stockinette.
