Full Name
Ethan Barclay-Ennew
Teacher Bio

Ethan has been knitting since they were 4 years old, taught by their great-grandmother and reinforced by their mother, grandmother, and librarians in school. Knitting maintained a small presence in their life until the opening of Needles in the Hay, when it ballooned out of control. Sweaters are the main focus of Ethan’s work as a knitter and a designer; as a self-described finished object knitter they are omnivorous and love a challenge. As someone who identifies as genderqueer and homoromantic, Ethan seeks to create garments that suit all bodies and genders that maximize the potential for self-expression while creating functional, thoughtful, and beautiful objects that will last. Find Ethan anywhere there is yarn, strong coffee, feminism, and online as the cohost of the “Outlaw Yarn HQ” podcast.
