Shireen is a multi-disciplinary artist who specializes in photography, design, fiber arts and ceramics. She is the owner, chief dyer, and creative director of The Blue Brick, Inc., an indie dye shop specializing in gradient yarns inspired by photography.

Photography is at the root of everything Shireen does. She has shot in more than twenty countries, and her work has been published in textbooks around the world, for architectural awards, and in National Geographic. She is a self-published author for her work in resin and knitwear design.

She holds a 3rd-degree black belt in goju karate, and has more than twenty years of experience in Okinawan weaponry. She is also the founder and chief instructor of a self-defense program that is provided free of charge to women’s shelters, student groups, and LGBTQ+ groups.

Shireen lives in Burlington, Ontario, with her husband and three beautiful, unruly dogs.
