Class Details:

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ, literally, “crocheted or knitted stuffed toy”) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. The word is a compound of the Japanese words 編み, ami, meaning “crocheted or knitted,” and 包み, kurumi, literally “wrapping.”

In this 2-hour class, we will go over the basics of making crocheted amigurumi, as well as tips and tricks to make your toys look as sweet as can be. We will be making a cute cactus, designed by Karine of La Rose du Rang and used here with permission.

Technique Requirements: Basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, slip stitch) and techniques, working in rows, working in rounds, increasing, decreasing, reading patterns.
