Class Details:

Have a knitting machine and don’t know where to get started? Don't have a machine yet, but want to get some familiarity with how it works? If so, this class is for you. The machine can look a little intimidating and has a big learning curve upfront. However, once you understand the basics, teaching yourself specific techniques becomes much easier. The objective of this class is to set up your foundation of everything you need to know to care for your machine and start knitting. Using my Brother KH890 for demos, we’ll go step-by-step together through each of the following topics and address any questions you have along the way.

We will cover:
-The machine’s key components and tools
-Setting up the machine
-General machine maintenance
-Casting on and off
-Techniques you can explore while you practice these initial skills

Technique Requirements: A basic understanding of hand knitting is encouraged, but not necessary

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

To knit along with the instructor: A set-up knitting machine and the tools that it came with (including a latch-hook), yarn suited for your, scissors, oil for your machine (Amsoil MP metal protector or comparable brand), a clean rag or old t-shirt that you don't mind getting dirty, and something to take notes with.
