Class Details:

If you want to start dyeing yarn, but don't know how to get started, or need some structured instructions before you dive in, this class is for you!

I will walk you through the process of dyeing yarn made of protein fiber (wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, camel, possum, silk, nylon, etc.), including supplies and suppliers, safety precautions, and dyeing process. I will show you how to dye semi-solid colored yarn and variegated yarn with hand painting and low-immersion bath.

You could watch the class and work on your own later, or you could work along with me during the class. If you choose to dye yarn during the class, please get all your supplies ready as detailed in the handout, which will be availabe the week of the event.

Requirements: Ability to follow instructions. We are handling chemicals. So, proper handling is crucial.
