Class Details:

No matter how perfect the in-betweens are, it's the beginning and ending of shawls that make the difference between oooooooh and oops! Working at a looser gauge means you can hardly ever cast on or bind off too loosely, but there sure are tons of ways to make it too tight! Join acclaimed shawl designer Romi Hill to learn several ways to cast-on your triangle shawl! We'll go through Romi's perfect garter tab start, a U start, and a modern Hap construction. We'll move on to a couple of no-fail stretchy bind-offs that you can use on any project.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

Sport or dk weight yarn and needles of choice for swatching; smooth cotton waste yarn (fingering or sport weight) and a crochet hook for the waste yarn; locking stitch marker or coilless safety pin; plain stitch markers
