Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, Know how to knit 2 color brioche rib

Setup Row (DC): Sl1, add new yarn, *BRK, sl1yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, BRK, move yarn to front, Sl1 wyif. Turn.

Brioche Rib:
Row 1 (LC): K1; *sl1yo, BRK; rep from * to last 2 sts, sl1yo, k1. Slide back to beginning of row.
Row 1 (DC): Sl1 wyib, move yarn to front; *BRP, sl1yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, BRP, move yarn to back, sl1 wyib. Turn.
Row 2 (LC): P1; *sl1yo, BRP; rep from * to last 2 sts, sl1yo, P1. Slide back to beginning of row.
Row 2 (DC): Sl1 wyif, move yarn to back; *BRK, sl1yo; rep from * to last 2 sts, BRK, move yarn to front, sl1 wyif. Turn.
Repeat these 2 rows (4 half rows) until work measures 3” long. End with Row 2 DC.

LC rows will always end with a K on BRK rows, and with a P on BRP rows. No brioche at the ends!
DC rows will always begin and end one st in from edge. Move yarn to opposite position before first DC st and after last DC st: On BRK rows move yarn to back to begin, and bring yarn to front after last BRK. On BRP rows, move yarn to front to begin, and move yarn to back after the last BRP.  It’s a dance!
