Double-pass is a fun technique for working single-row stripes in flat knitting, similar to that used in two-color brioche. Combined with slipped stitches, small travelling stitch cables, and lace motifs, interesting two-color patterning can be created across a single row using the double-pass technique, but just using one color at a time! During the workshop you will learn how to work stocking stitch and garter stitch using the double-pass technique, as well as investigate slipped stitches, cables, and travelling stitches to create unique knitted fabrics. We will also look at how double-pass charts differ from regular charts and how to read them, and we’ll cover some trouble shooting for this particular technique. If you’ve ever struggle with two-color brioche knitting, or are apprehensive about learning it, then this workshop would be a great stepping-stone toward mastering that particular stitch!
