Class Details:

Do you want to learn from a designer how to get ready for customizing a pattern to your gauge? Do you lose your project notes and wish you had them organized?

This class will help you to prepare an Excel workbook where you can store all needed information about one project, organize tables for customizing a pattern to fit to your own gauge, yarn choice and body measurements. You will be given an Excel file with an example of such tables. In the same workbook there will be ready-made working knitting calculators: one is for calculating shaping slopes and the other one is for increasing or decreasing stitches evenly spaced.

During this class you will:
1.     begin the process of re-calculating numbers from the pattern gauge to yours
2.     learn how to follow a designer’s vision of the pattern
3.     understand how to prepare numbers for given calculators and how to read the results
4.     have an idea of some modifications of the pattern

You can use a copy of this workbook for a different project, and most of the work will be done for you.

Disclosure: This class is not designed to re-calculate the whole pattern of a sweater. You will leave the class with general understanding how to do it on your own with tools learned in class.

Technique Requirements: Must have basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheet and its simple functions
