During this workshop we will discuss in detail all the steps to obtain a gorgeous edges with the tubular cast-on and bind-off. It is not always easy to work a tubular cast-on and bind-off that eventually stays in shape and doesn’t flare out! But no panic! By the end of this class you will know how to deal with this cast-on and you will be ready to use it for your next project. We will also see together the tubular bind-off, which is worked with a tapestry needle. This cast-on and bind-off method is usually worked in 1x1 ribs and works perfectly for hems, neckbands, and cuffs.

During the class we will make a swatch in 1x1 rib, casting on and binding off using this tubular method.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, basic finishing techniques

Waste yarn (thinner then the one used for the sample). Yarn to work the ribbed sample (DK of worsted will work fine). Straight needles, circular needles, or DPNs in 3 different sizes (for ex. 2,5mm, 3mm, 3,5mm, or 3mm, 3,5mm, 4m) It doesn’t really matter the size as long as the bigger size is correct for the yarn you are using. Smaller sizes are used to have a tighter cast-on. Tapestry needle. Pen and paper to write down notes.
