Class Details:

In this workshop you will learn my new method of connecting cast-on stitches for working in the round without a jog. This smooth join is very neat and practically invisible.

In the theoretical part, the principle and the structure of the new join will be explained. In the practical part you will learn how to start and to work cast-on, how to connect the ends of the cast-on row without a jog, for the long tail cast-on and twisted German cast-on, using long circular needles (magic loop), very short circular needles or DPNs. Stitch patterns used: stocking stitch, single rib. As a bonus you will be shown how to make the invisible quick and easy join for bind-off, using a hook or sewing needle.

The necessary handouts will be provided.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

Any smooth yarn (DK or worsted weight, preferably in light colors), one per swatch if you don’t want to cut the yarn; the needles to match the yarn (long circular 16-40” or short circular 10-12”; a set of DPNs (optional, if you prefer them to circular); one cable needle or short needle; one locking stitch marker; a sewing needle or hook; scissors; stitch holders or a few extra circular needles the same or smaller size (just to hold the live sts of swatches).
