Serah Hedin is a fiber artist and natural dyer living and working in Vancouver, BC. Her work explores the pursuit of natural color from locally wildcrafted plants to historical dye extracts. Her most recent works examine identity as a weaver, following and breaking traditional techniques. Hedin has shown weaving, embroidery, and installation work in group exhibitions in Vancouver, BC. She also teaches weaving and natural dyeing workshops for groups and individuals. Serah has taken course study in the Fibre Arts program at the Kootenay School of the Arts: Centre of Craft and Design, in Nelson, BC, and weaving at the University College of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC. Serah continues to build upon her knowledge of natural dyeing and weaving through studio time and course study with other artists.
