It’s the first stitch most knitters learn and an old standby for scarves and shawls – but garter stitch is not without its idiosyncrasies. In this lecture, we’ll take a look at trusty garter stitch, looking at the structure of the stitch and its pros and cons. We’ll look at some ideas for neater edges, ways to increase and decrease, and talk about helpful tips and techniques. You’ll gain a fresh appreciation for glorious garter!
