This is a two-part class. Both sections of the class will automatically be placed in your cart when you select one of the sessions.

Did you know that you can crochet socks? And that crochet socks are just as versatile and wearable as their knitted cousins? Well, you can! In this 2-part class, you will learn how to crochet socks from the toes up, how to adapt crochet socks to your foot, and the 2 basic types of heel: afterthought and short row.

Technique Requirements: Basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, slip stitch) and techniques, working in rows, working in rounds, increasing, decreasing, reading patterns.

Homework:

Please take the time to prepare a tube to work onto as per the instructions below.

Materials
5 mm hook
Worsted-weight yarn in a neutral color
Stitch markers

Instruction
Chain 41, join with slip stitch to form a tube.
Round 1. Working in the back bumps, single crochet in each chain around, do not join. Place a marker in the 1st stitch and move it up as you work.
Round 2. Single crochet in each stitch, do not join.
Repeat Round 2 until your tube measures 10 cm. Finish off, weave ends in.

Supplies for Class:

Homework, 50g worsted weight yarn and a 5 mm hook to practice, 2x 2 locking stitch markers in 2 different colors, yarn needle, scissors.
