Class Details:

In this workshop you will learn how to attach new yarn without knots while still knitting the project, so that there are no tails to hide after it is finished. The method works for plain work, for color stripes and color blocks, Fair Isle, and intarsia. First I’ll show how to make the loop join. Then we will practice it on the samples with stripes, color blocks, intarsia, and more. The handouts include the instructions for the technique.

Technique requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off

Homework:

For three identical samples: cast on 12 sts, work 4 rows in garter stitch; set-up Row 1 (RS): knit; Row 2 (WS): purl. Repeat rows 1 & 2 once (4 rows of stocking stitch in total).

Supplies for Class:

A few different colors of DK- or worsted-weight yarn, non superwash, preferably singles; the needles to match the yarn; small bowl with water or water-spray; sharp needle or pin, scissors.
