If you struggle with purling or don't like to do it, perhaps you just haven't found the way that works best for you yet. There's always more than one way to do a thing in knitting, and knitters around the world have been purling in many different ways—one of which may be your new favorite.
In this class, we'll practice the Norwegian purl, Russian/Eastern purling, and Portugese purling. We'll also consider some of the common issues we have with standard purl techniques and some different ways to address them.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off
Cast on 20 stitches flat and work two rows in garter stitch (knitting every row).
Approximately 20 yards of smooth worsted-weight yarn in a solid light color and needles in a compatible size (usually US #7-9) suitable for working flat, plus needles in the next two sizes smaller.
