Remember when the thought of dropping a stitch made your heart stop? Now learn to let that GO! With drop-stitch patterns you will discover the beauty of dropping a stitch on purpose! Drop-stitch patterns are fun and add a wow factor to anything you knit. In this hands-on knitting class, we will explore a variety of beautiful drop-stitch patterns that add texture as well as manipulated drops and lifted floats. Add a bit of wow to any pattern. Come on, drop a stitch, and let it go!
Homework:
Work 4 swatches, leave all on needles (or stitch holder) with yarn still attached, we will be working these swatches. NOTE: make sure your homework is done correctly in advance of class. We won’t have time to reknit homework swatches in class.
 
Swatch #1 – CO 21 stitches
Row 1 – K across
Row 2 – K across
Row 3 – *P2tog, YO repeat from * to last stitch, P1
Row 4 – K across
Row 5 – K across

Swatch #2 – CO 24 stitches
Set up row: (RS) -  k1, *p2, k1, yo, k1, p2, k2 ;rep from * end last repeat with p2, k1 — 27 st
Row 1, 3, 5  (WS) -  P1* k2, p3, k2, p2; rep from * end last repeat with k2, p1
Row 2, 4 (RS -  knit the knits, purl the purls
 
Swatch #3 – CO 21 stitches
Set up row: (RS) -  k1, p1, *k5, p1*; rep from * to last st, k1
 
Swatch #4 – CO 20 stitches
Abbreviations:
Tk2tog – Twisted k2tog, slip two sts as if to knit, transfer both sts purlwise back to left needle, knit 2tog, creates a twisted R slanting dec
K2togtbl – Knit two together through the back loop, this will create a twisted L slanting dec
Tbl – through back loop
