- Base sweater pattern exclusive to the workshop: Raglan sleeve, fingering weight with options for pullover or cardigan versions with different necklines.
- Making a swatch, blocking and understanding how to use it.
- Sizing, fit and styling for different body shapes.
- Understanding key points in sweater making and patterns.
- How to use special techniques to customize your sweater (cables, lace colorwork).
- Finishing secrets.
Beginner knitters with experience knitting and purling, preferably having completed 1 or 2 smaller projects.
Circular knitting needles: we suggest bringing a set of interchangeable needles or sizes US 2 through 6 circular needles. Cables at least 32" long.
Darning needle, stitch markers, snips.
Yarn: The basic pattern requires fingering weight yarn. The yardage you'll use will depend on the length and the amount of positive ease you pick for your sweater once we go through the planning stages. As a guide, we've provided some yardage estimates listed below.

Timetable
We will have 4 sessions to work together. Both teachers will be in the classroom at the same time.
1st session: Introduction, making a swatch, blocking.
2nd and 3rd sessions: Body measurements, sizing, fit, choosing sizes, modifications according to the swatch results and style, cast on.
4th session: Answering questions about the pattern, basics on techniques like colorwork and cables, finishing secrets.
