Twinkie Chan is a San Francisco-based crochet designer and author known for her colorful, food-themed accessories like cupcake scarves, hamburger mitts, and slushee cup purses. Her unique work has been featured online, in print, and on television, and in 2010, she launched a licensed brand called Yummy You! which was carried at retailers like Hot Topic, NYLON Shop, and ModCloth. The demand for her crochet patterns inspired her to write two highly anticipated books, Twinkie Chan’s Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats to Wear (Andrews McMeel, 2010) and Twinkie Chan’s Crocheted Abode A La Mode: 20 Yummy Crochet Projects for Your Home (Creative Publishing International, 2016). She has also written patterns for Michaels.com, a column for Simply Crochet Magazine, and has been hired to create promotional content for companies like Lion Brand Yarn, Lily Sugar ’n Cream, Sanrio, McDonald’s, Sesame Workshop, TikTok, and Facebook Stories. You can currently view her first crochet installation, Sucre Fleuf!, inside Sweet Tooth Hotel in Dallas, Texas, as part of a group fiber art show called Intangible, organized by the Craft Yarn Council. Stay tuned for a book of crochet patterns based on her magical bakery space.
