So you’ve mastered two-color brioche rib. What next? Increases and decreases! Choose one of the following patterns: Heliotrope hat or cowl, or Brioche Pastiche hat. We will learn and practice the double increase and left- and right-leaning double decreases. We’ll also learn more about reading your brioche knitting and fixing more mistakes.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; working in the round; know how to work 2 color brioche rib; this is not a beginning brioche class.
Cast on and work through the two set-up rounds for Heliotrope hat or cowl. For Brioche Pastiche, also work the 6 rounds of brioche rib as indicated in pattern.
One light colored and one dark colored heavy worsted to Aran weight yarn, 100 yards each (example: Malabrigo Worsted), 16" US 6 circular needle for hat or 24" needle for cowl, one stitch marker for beginning of round. A row counter is helpful, too. Pattern of your choice from the above listed patterns.
