Class Details:

If you have ever wanted to design knitwear and hone in on your design process, style, or business, this is the workshop that covers it all. You will participate in exercises that will narrow in on your design aesthetic, learn how to make a cohesive collection, and how to present your newfound brand identity. Focusing on strengthening your design skills, we won’t be discussing construction of your designs. This opens you up to discover your true design style and is perfect for every skill level.

Class 1: We will look at the upcoming trends and forecasts in the knitwear industry and discuss aspects of design and the different processes that designers use to create. Each student will sketch using tears sheets and inspiration from class discussions or from their personal collection. By the end of Class 1, you will have started to focus in on your unique design profile and be equipped with the tools to developing your brand DNA.

Class 2: Every student will have the opportunity to present their rough sketches to Josh and discuss design aspects to help your pieces fit into your customer profile and style. You can then start to execute a final collection that will showcase your distinct design direction and story you want to tell, while building your brand identity and customer base.
