Name
Texture, Color, and a Long-Lost Stitch: Knitting in Relief
Teacher
Catherine Lowe
Class Description
Be prepared to be inspired by this unique stitch that puts texture and color into your knitting. Much like a bas-relief sculptural technique for knitters, the result is an exciting, yet subtle and elegant, surface texture when it is worked in one color, bold and arresting when worked in two or more. In class you will make a reference sample to learn the basic technique and its variations as well as explore how and where to use it to enhance your handknits.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, chart reading, easy colorwork, basic understanding of the structure of knitted fabric, comfortable with basic stitch manipulations such as slipping, twisting, knitting through the back of the loop
