This master class is a sequel to the Introduction to marls and color class and is a deeper dive into the world of marls, and specifically how to combine marls into gradients. Marls can be used to create gradients with many yarns, and are especially effective when using gradient sets. We will cover different kinds of gradients, basic color theory, how gradient sets work, and how to use marls to make beautiful color movements in your hand knitting. This class is suitable for knitters of all levels from advanced beginner to advanced.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; must have completed the two-part class Using Marls as Colorwork in Handknitting.
None. If students have gradients sets in their stash, they are encouraged to get these out so they can look at them and discuss ideas for using them in the class.
