Name
Working Basic Intarsia: Ziggy Zaggy Pillow
Teacher
Dario Tubiana
Class Description
During this workshop we will learn how use intarsia reading a chart! Intarsia is a great way to play with colors when working on a project. However, sometimes it’s a technique that we tend to avoid because it looks scary, doesn’t it? Well we’re going to take a closer look at it because it is super cool!
We will begin by setting the work to begin our intarsia project. I will explain to you how to deal with multiple colors and yarns, what kind of fiber is best for intarsia, how to create bobbins, how to join new yarns, and how to weave in the ends. We will work together a sample with multiple colors with whatever yarn you have in your stash, but I will give you, together with a syllabus, a pattern for my Ziggy Zaggy pillow so that you can work at home to begin practicing intarsia creating a small project!
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, chart reading
