Class Details:

Use sequence knitting to make a reversible, highly textured shawl in the yarn of your choice. Three patterns will be included with the class: Anywhere, Conversing, and Careful. Anywhere is ideal for social knitting while Conversing and Careful are a little bit more challenging. Depending on your yarn and color choices, your shawl could be understated and minimalist, or it could be bold and wild. It’s knitter’s choice. This class is a good introduction to the concept of sequence knitting, and is suitable for advanced beginners and beyond.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, chart reading, have knit a few accessories, basic finishing techniques

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

For swatching in class students need a ball of solid-color yarn and appropriate needles. If students want to make a scarf or shawl, they will need more yarn and long circular needles. Approximate yardages in fingering weight are 400y for a small scarf, 800y for generous shawl, and 1200–1600y for very big shawl. (Thicker yarns will need less yardage.) The patterns are adaptable to different yarn quantities and are great stash busters.
