Class Details:
Experienced knitwear designer Deborah Newton shares her tips and favorites techniques for making something extra-special with a little bit of extra tailoring. Details like lapels, belts, peplums, pleats, buttonbands, and inset pockets will all be discussed. Explore in class how to plan as well as knit these great details into your one-of-a-kind tailored sweaters.
Homework:
In your chosen worsted-weight yarn, work one swatch in a pattern of your choice, ensuring the swatch measures at least 6" x 6". Do not work any extra edge sts, just the pattern itself. Bring remaining yarn and the needles you used for the swatch.
Supplies for Class:
Three coordinated colors of worsted weight wool, one ball each. Knitting needles, in a size that makes a nice fabric in your chosen yarn (size 7 or 8 as a start), as well as one size smaller, too.
