Class Details:
Whether you are an A cup or a 38DD, this class will give you all the tools you need to create a supportive hand-knit halter top. The pattern covers how to make a bra that ties around the neck, crosses and ties in the back to give you the most lift and support. You will also have two coverage options, full or half nude back. Class begins with taking our measurements and checking our yarn’s gauge. Then we’ll plug the numbers into a template, do a little math together, and complete your custom fit halter pattern. We’ll make a swatch size version of the backless halter in order to learn all the shaping and construction techniques needed to complete this project. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; beginner lace; have knit a few accessories; basic finishing techniques
Homework:
None
Supplies for Class:
Yarn: Bring at least 100 yards. I recommend a cotton, linen, soy, rayon or bamboo. Blends are great. Elastic is not necessary. Got scraps you want to play around with? Bring them! Gauge: Bring a yarn with a recommended gauge no smaller than 22 stitches per 4" and no larger than 12 stitches per 4". Needles: Bring a needle (2) sizes smaller then what the yarn label recommends. For example: if the label recommends you use a US 6/4mm needle to get a 22 stitches per 4", bring a US 4/ 3.5mm needle. Also bring a needle (2) sizes smaller than the larger needle. Notions: Tape measure Scissors Stitch markers Tapestry needle Stitch holder Pencil Calculator (or phone with calculator)
