Professional designer and technical knitwear expert Deborah Newton presents a class that will prepare you to write patterns for the knitting projects you hope to sell either through self-publishing or a publication. Deborah takes you through the whole process of writing a pattern:
* How to create a format that works for your project
* How to write a clear pattern that is easy to read
* Understanding sizing increments
* How to prepare charts for pattern stitches
* How to clarify row-by-row pattern instructions
* How to present schematic drawings
* How to clearly present finishing techniques

Technique Requirements: Have knit a whole garment; have knit accessories; increasing and decreasing; chart reading

Supplies to Bring:

If possible, a project of your own, with your paperwork for that design. Graph paper, ruler, eraser and pencil. A few colored pencils: red, green, blue; or other colors that contrast.
