Class Details:

Picking combinations of colors doesn’t come easy for most. You might not be born with the ability, but you can learn the secrets to combine colors successfully with this class. Using a concrete, easy-to-understand explanation of color theory and a particular color wheel, you will gain useable knowledge that you can apply to successfully select colors for your multi-color knitting project such as intarsia, 2-color slip stitch, Fair Isle, color blocking, stripes, and more. But it doesn’t stop there. This class will help you pick color combinations for clothing, quilting, and home decorating. So whether you love beige or electric neon shocking pink, see how to blend it with more colors to make a colorful garment that makes you look like you were born with a valuable artistic talent.

Homework:

None

Supplies to Bring:

Bring a selection of single balls of yarns of as many colors and textures as you can. Is it ugly? Bring it. Bring the pretty stuff too. Raid your leftovers or bring a ball from your next project. To reduce bulk, wind the yarn into a small 2 inch ball. We will use these balls for color purposes only so small quantities are enough. Bring samples of reds, purples, teals, blues greens, yellows, oranges. Bring any pastel colors, light pink, light blue, light yellow, light green, light purple, etc. Bring dark colors like hunter greens, burgundy, burnt oranges, navy blue, dark purples, blacks, browns, grays, camel, off whites. Bring 20 to 40 little balls of different colors. If you don’t have any of these groups, others will and we will learn from their stash.
