Do you like the look of intricate colorwork but hate the thought of all those bobbins and tangled up yarns? In this workshop, learn the ins and outs of this deceptively easy technique. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off
Homework:
Four swatches as follows: Swatch #1: With smooth, solid light-colored worsted-weight yarn and size 8/5mm needles, CO 15 sts. Work K1 P1 rib for 1"/2.5cm. Next Row (WS): Purl across. Slip sts onto holder. Swatch #2: With smooth, solid light-colored worsted-weight yarn and size 8/5mm needles, CO 23 sts. Work K1 P1 rib for 1"/2.5cm. Next Row (WS): Knit across. Slip sts onto holder. Swatch #3: With smooth, solid light-colored worsted-weight yarn and size 8/5mm needles, CO 27 sts. Work K1 P1 rib for 1"/2.5cm Next Row (WS): Purl across. Slip sts onto holder. Swatch #4: With smooth, solid light-colored worsted-weight yarn and size 8/5mm needles, CO 27 sts. Work K1 P1 rib for 1"/2.5cm. Next Row (WS): Knit across. Slip sts onto holder.
Supplies for Class:
Four homework swatches with yarn still attached; a few balls of contrasting brightly-colored (but solid) worsted-weight yarn (please do not choose anything too dark); sticky notes (such as Post Itâ„¢ Notes); size 8/5mm knitting needles; graph paper, 5 squares to the inch; pencil.
