Class Details:
Gorgeous encrusted thread motifs are the hallmark of traditional Irish crochet. In this exciting workshop, we will learn to decipher traditional and new patterns and work the delicate stitches that are unique to this craft out of yarn. We will discuss the traditional method of affixing motifs to a ground, and try newer applications that will translate beautifully to contemporary garments. Irish crochet is revered the world over and forms the basis for lush Russian, Brazilian, and Asian hand-crafted couture. Even the most dedicated knitter will appreciate the accent a thoughtfully designed crochet motif can add to a knitted garment! Technique Requirements: Advanced Crochet.
