Class Details:
This class will begin with a basic review of the structure of lace knitting patterns. Students will be walked through reading a lace chart and working 3 lace-appropriate cast-ons. For the main class exercise students will practice knitting a lace pattern. They will prepare for the knitting exercise by learning how to understand the structure of the featured pattern. This will enable them to “read” their work as they knit. To understand horizontal lace knitting as well as single and double-sided lace techniques, they will be given an overview of the structure of a lace panel and of a lace edging. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; have knit a few accessories; chart reading

Supplies for Class:
Light-colored heavy worsted-weight yarn and knitting utensils including appropriately sized circular knitting needles for the yarn, stitch markers, scissors, row counter, and tape or other highlighting device for following a chart.
