Class Details:

Reyka is a new simple selvedge. It’s very decorative, with an unusual line along the edge. It makes very tidy edges, flat and identical on either side, and therefore highly recommended for scarves and shawls. Reyka is perfect for garter stitch and other compressed stitch patterns, as well as seed stitch.

There are two varieties of Reyka selvedge: with a single line and with double lines. We will study both of these: how to start, work, and finish them by knitting a few samples in a variety of stitch patterns.

A useful handout with text and video tutorial will be provided.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

A ball of DK- or worsted-weight yarn or a few small leftover balls preferably in a light color; the needles to match the yarn.
